Clean, dry and tidy dishes.
Open all windows for ventilation.
Dust down the ceiling and corners of walls.
Spot wash air vents, doorknobs, doors, light switches, walls.
Dust and clean the frames and glass of all art and photographs along the wall with a damp clean cloth.
Dust and clean any light fixtures and ceiling fans.
Take down curtains and blinds to wash or have cleaned according to the manufacturer's directions.
Vacuum and clean windowsills and corners.
Wash the insides and outsides of the windows.
Run the dishwasher empty with a degreasing agent.
Apply oven cleaner to the oven.
We may ask you for instruction manuals/cleaning guidelines of any appliance we are unfamiliar with.
While the oven cleaner works, begin sorting through the freezer and refrigerator.
Throw out any expired food, empty containers. Take out the refrigerator shelves and drawers and wash them. Wipe down and dry the entire inside of the refrigerator and freezer before replacing shelves and, finally, food.
Wipe down and clean out the oven according to the directions on the oven cleaner.
Take the knobs, burners, burner covers, and spill catchers off of the stove.
Wipe down and clean the toaster, blender, and other small appliances.
Wipe down and clean the microwave, bringing a water-filled glass with a splash of lemon juice to the boil inside to help remove encrusted food.
Clear out and clean kitchen cupboards inside and out.
Run the dishwasher empty with a descaler then clean inside and out.
Wash down the work-surfaces.
Wipe down and clean out any drawers.
Wash down the sink removing any tea stains and other discoloration and lime-scale.
Sweep and mop the floors and skirting boards finishing with a rag or towel.
Scent with appropriate essential oil and admire (briefly).
