Pure Sparkle

Bathrooms require regular ‘deep’ cleaning to avoid mould, lime-scale, hair and grime build up. Here’s what we do.

Put all dirty laundry in the laundry basket.
Put any rubbish in the bin.
Dust down the ceiling and corners.
Dust and clean the frames and glass of all wall art and photos with a wet cloth.
Dust any vents and fans.
Clean all light fixtures.
Take down curtains and blinds, etc, to wash or have cleaned according to the directions – when time allows.
Dust down any blinds etc.
Dust down and wash windowsills and corners.
Wash the inside and outsides of windows leaving open if it is not raining.
Wash walls where appropriate.
Scrub the shower, bath and fixtures.
Apply descaler to the taps, shower head and hose, plug and plughole when clean.
Clean shower doors using a descaler – or – take down and clean shower curtain – most, but not all can be put on a cold wash with a towel or two for protection.
Attack any grout mould with Hydrogen peroxide (Never do this yourself, only to be done if trained in handling chemicals – it can be highly dangerous).
Scrub down the toilet inside (removing lime-scale build up) and out including the handle, all nooks and crannies and the underneath.
Wash the inside and outside of the medicine cabinets, linen baskets, etc.
Wash down the sink and fixtures, applying, when finished a descaler to the taps and plughole.
Clean mirrors using micro-fibre cloth and natural window cleaner.
Shake out bath and toilet mats and put them in the wash, and hang dry.
Sweep and mop the floor finishing with a rag on your hands and knees.
Empty and wash out the bin.
Do a last once over, when the rest of the house is cleaned to remove all descaler from taps and fittings including replacing towels and flannels so it feels like home, folding the toilet paper for that luxury-hotel feel and replacing any washed items like shower curtains or bathmats and pat ourselves on the back.
